Purchasing a Test Only means that you will only receive the test. All tests correlate directly with the reading materials for the CE course. You must complete the test that is sent to you; no previous versions (i.e., longer/shorter) of any test will be accepted for CE credit. It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure you have the correct reading material to complete the test. X-Ray Lady is not responsible for the failure of a test when trying to complete a course without any or incorrect reading material. No refunds, exchanges, or store credits are issued after failing all three attempts allowed for the course.
Course Description
This course offers the experienced and novice technologist a review and introduction to the factors affecting radiation dose in CT examinations: dose reduction methods and optimization of image quality. Chapter 1 reviews the principles of radiation physics. Chapter 2 provides information about the evolution of CT equipment design and dose reduction initiatives and the impact they have on radiation dose reduction and improvements in image quality. Chapter 3 focuses on information regarding radiation dose and biological risks associated with exposure to ionizing radiation during CT examinations that can be used to educate referring physicians, patients, caregivers, and the public about radiation exposure in CT examinations. Chapter 4 covers dose reduction techniques such as automatic exposure control, tube current modulation, automatic voltage selection, and iterative reconstruction, and examination specific dose reduction techniques in common CT examinations.
This course is based on the book CT Safety: Dose Reduction & Image Optimization, by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 101 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size. This book has 12 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.
The test has 48 multiple choice and true/false questions.
