1.    How do your homestudy courses work?

Completing an X-Ray Lady® homestudy course is easy, convenient, and can be done from the comfort of your own couch. Each course includes a reading reference and test. The test questions correspond with the reading and can be answered as you read through the text. All test questions conform to the standard multiple choice design required by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists® (ASRT)®.

Once you complete your test, you must submit your answers for grading. Directions on how to submit are included in your course materials or click on the Submit Your Answers tab. Once you have successfully passed your test you will receive a certificate of completion.  The certificate is verification of receiving the CE credit and will be used in the process of renewing your x-ray license.

*Please note our office operates on Eastern Standard Time (EST).  ASRT®/ARRT® guidelines state that all license holders must submit completed CE within the CE provider’s time zone.  For example:  If your license expires on October 31st and you submit your completed test at 9pm Pacific Standard Time (PST) your certificate of completion will be dated November 1st because it was received at 12am EST in our office.

2.    How do your eBook courses work?

Ordering an eBook course is the fastest way to receive your reading material! Simply place your order over the phone or by selecting the desired course from our course catalog. If you order online, you will immediately receive an email containing links to download the PDF file of the eBook, test questions, & answer sheet. Your email will contain directions on how to best complete your course. We do not recommend printing the eBook due to the amount of pages they contain. Phone orders placed before 4:30pm EST on business days (Monday-Friday) are processed and sent within the hour; phone orders for eBooks cannot be processed outside of business hours.

While it is not necessary to own an e-Reader (Nook, Kindle, iPad, etc.) to use an eBook, eBook courses require Adobe Reader which can be downloaded for free by clicking here. Most eBook courses are cheaper than the mail-order version and are not charged shipping and handling.

No refunds are given for eBook materials once the materials have been sent to you. Click here to view our refund and exchange policy.

3.    How long does it take to receive my course materials?

Consult “Shipping Information and Delivery” and “eBook Information and Delivery” on our “How to Order” page by clicking here.

4.    How do I submit my test answers?

There are a few ways to submit your test to us. Click here to go to our “Submit Your Answers” tab for information on all the options for submission. Be sure to always retain a copy of your answers for your records.

5.    What is a passing score?

A score of 75% or better is required to receive credit.

6.    What if I fail the test?

Don’t worry, this rarely happens. We will contact you personally if you fail a test. You will have two more chances to pass the test at no charge. The ARRT® guidelines will only allow you 3 attempts at passing the test.  According to ARRT® guidelines, if you must retake a test we can only tell you how many questions you missed.  We cannot give you the specific questions you missed or give you a copy of your failed test.  If you fail 3 times you must forfeit the credit and course and order something else.

7.    Once I turn in my test answers, how long will it take to receive my certificate?

Use our Online Testing Center for instant access to your certificate upon passing the course! Click Here for more info on our Online Testing Center. If you complete your test in our online testing center you will have immediate access to download your certificate.

Emailed, mailed, or faxed in answer sheets are graded the same day they are received or the next business day and certificates are dated with the day they are received in our office. Once they have been graded a certificate will be emailed to you unless you request a mailed copy.

If you sent in an answer sheet to be graded and do not receive your certificate via email within 3-5 business days, please call our office for confirmation and tracking purposes. Mailed certificates are sent first class mail and may take 5-7 business days for delivery.

8.    I submitted my answers and haven’t gotten my certificate yet. Where is it?

If submit using our Online Testing Center, upon passing the course you can download your certificate immediately from the testing center. You are removed from the testing center within 24-72 hours after you complete your course, so if you did not save or print your certificate within this time frame you may contact our office to request a copy.

If sent an answer sheet to be graded, you should receive your certificate within 3-5 days via email and 5-7 days via snail mail (only if you requested a mailed copy). Please contact our office immediately if you do not receive your certificate within this time frame or if you did not save/print your certificate.

Click Here to request a replacement copy of your certificate.

9.    I lost my certificate, how do I get a replacement?

You may request a replacement certificate here or by contacting our office. We have a $5 replacement fee for requesting 6 or more certificates.

10.    Does X-Ray Lady® report my credit to the ARRT®, ASRT®, or my state radiation control agency?

The ARRT® and ASRT® require the individual radiographer to report their own CE credits to them. The X-Ray Lady® reports CE credits to Florida’s radiation control board as required by state regulations. All other state radiation control boards require the technician to self report.

A technologist registered  and certified with the ARRT® is required to report their CE every 2 years by completing the ARRT® renewal form. Copies of CE course certificates should not be sent to the ARRT® unless requested. The ARRT® continuously performs random audits for proof of CE on their license holders.  Please retain a copy of your certificates in case you are audited.  ASRT® members have the option to submit their certificate copies for tracking in their CE record. The ASRT® transfers ASRT® approved CE credit for members directly to the ARRT®.  The ARRT® will accept state approved credit but it needs to be reported by the individual directly to the ARRT®.  More information about the ASRT®’s track and transfer option is available at ASRT.org.

11.  How long is the CE credit good for once I receive my certificate?

The CE credit awarded for successful completion of a course does not expire. The CE courses that you take to meet registration and certification requirements for the ARRT® and or state agencies must be taken during your biennium cycle. All CE credits must be earned by the last day of your biennium period. Courses taken before the start date of your biennium will not carry over or transfer to your next biennium period.

Each X-Ray Lady® CE course has an approval start and end date. These dates are published on the front of each course. According to the ARRT®, a course must be in approved status when you finish the course and receive your dated certificate. Credit cannot be given for expired courses.  If you have questions about your course expiration date or to inquire if a course approval has been renewed please call our office.  For additional information about your biennium, go to the ARRT® website or contact your state radiation control agency.

12.  Who approves/accepts X-Ray Lady® CE Courses?

The X-Ray Lady®’s courses have been evaluated and approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists® (ASRT)® for category A or A+ credit. Our courses are also approved by Florida’s radiation control board.  ASRT® and state board approved CE courses are accepted for ARRT® certification and registration required CE credits. For information about the approval status of a specific course, click on the course listing in the catalog or contact our office.

13.  Are your courses approved for my state licensure?

Most state radiation control agencies accept ASRT® approved CE courses. For information about state CE requirements, you may view our National & State CE Info tab. For additional specific state CE requirements, we suggest that you contact your state board.

14.  What is the difference between category A and A+?

Courses that are reviewed and approved by a RCEEM are awarded either Category A or Category A+ CE credit. Category A+ CE credit is awarded to activities that meet the content criteria for certified and registered radiologic assistants (R.R.A.®). All other activities receive the Category A CE credit designation. An R.R.A.® must take only A+ credit. An R.T.® certificant or registrant or limited technologist can take either A or A+ credit. Activities awarded the Category A+ credit designations are not any more difficult than Category A CE activities. Rather, Category A+ CE activities are in topics related to one or more clinical activities performed by R.R.A.® certificants & registrants.

15.  What happens if the course I bought is expired/about to expire?

To receive CE credit for a course that is ASRT® approved, you must complete the course BEFORE the expiration date listed on the cover page of the course and within the biennium you need the credit for. If in doubt, please call our office regarding the approval status of the course. Most of our courses do get re-approved every 2-3 years. If a course will not be re-approved we will contact you 60 days before the expiration date to remind you to complete your course for credit.

16.  Do you buy back used books?

No. If you send us your used materials after completion they will be discarded.

17.  I already have the book; can I order just the test?

Yes. We have a “test only” option for people who already have the book, or for CE materials for groups. Click here for information and how to place your order.
