Winter Newsletter  2016
Greetings!
As we finally near the end of winter with Spring just in sight there are exciting changes and news to share.  We have several new courses about to be released.  As of January 1, 2016, the ARRT announced many changes to their continuing education requirements.  As always it is a daunting task to keep informed of all the state and national changes that take place but anytime we get news we try to share it with our customers.  Our customers are what makes our company great and we look forward to being able to serve you and keep you informed for years to come!

ARRT Post Primary CE Requirements
You may already be aware that the ARRT has set some new continuing education guidelines for post-primary license holders. In the past ARRT accepted any topic that supported radiologic technology as long as the course was approved by a recognized approving agency.
As of Jan. 1, 2016 any technologist who holds an ARRT post-primary license must obtain at least 16 of their 24 CE credits in a subject matter directly related to their post- primary license.  So, for example, if you work in CT, 16 of your 24 required credits must be CT related.  The specific credit must meet the ARRT structured educational requirements.
The good news for our customers is that all of our courses that apply to post-primary licenses are now coded into the structured educational categories.  We will have more on our website regarding this information but for now you can call our office for additional information about the ARRT coding of our courses.

Click the link below to read more about the structured education requirements on the ARRT website.

ARRT Guideline Change for Repeating CE Courses
As of January 1, 2016 the ARRT now allows technologists to repeat a CE course previously completed; however, the ARRT does not allow the CE course to be completed within the same biennium.
In light of this new rule, when you place an order our staff will not contact you about a repeated CE course unless the CE course was completed within the last two years.
If you have an X-Ray Lady course reference and would like to retake the course, now you can!
Save money on your CE by using the X-Ray Lady course reference you have and just purchase a posttest at a discounted price. X-Ray Lady CE courses are approved for a 1-3 year period so check with our office to see if your CE course reference you have is still approved for continuing education credit.

X-Ray Lady Fall 2015 Newsletter
Greetings!

As fall has hit us in full force and the holidays right around the corner we are busier than ever trying to wrap up 2015.  We have several new courses that we are working on with the hopes of having them submitted for an approval before the end of the year.  This newsletter will give you a small glimpse of what is to come and a reminder of the new courses that came out over the summer.

New Positioning CE
We are currently working on a new basic positioning course.  We are hoping that it will be approved for at least 24 credits.  This course is based on Merrill’s Atlas of Radiographic Positioning & Procedures textbook.  It will make an excellent refresher course for the experienced technologists and will finally give our limited’s a full 24 credit CE course that is not based on a specialty modality.  We are planning for the course to be available around the beginning of 2016.  We will announce the release of the course via our email list, website, and social media so stay tuned.

Our Latest New CE Releases
All of the courses listed below were released over the summer.  Please click a course title to learn more information on the course or place an order today!

Image Analysis of the Cervical, Thoracic & LS Spine (2.75 CE)

Chest & Abdomen Radiographic Anatomy & Positioning (3 CE)

Image Analysis of Chest & Abdomen (3.5 CE)

Imaging Obesity
Unfortunately, today in the United States obesity has become and has continued to be an ongoing issue.  As technologist we have to image all types, sizes, and shapes of individuals.  Obesity has proven that it has it’s own special sets of challenges when trying to obtain an appropriate image.  We have carried a CE course of Imaging Obesity for quite some time now and would like to let you know that we have decided to completely revamp the course.

Once submitted for approval we are hoping that it will receive a new course approval.  This means that if you have taken the previous Imaging Obesity course you will be able to take the new updated version.  We have received a lot of feedback from our customers regarding the older version of this course and plan to take all of those suggestions into consideration when creating the new version.  Stay tuned for the new updated version of this exciting new CE course.

End of the Month/Year License Renewals
The end of any month and especially the end of the year tend to be extremely busy for our office.  This is because as you know most license expiration dates for CE fall at the end of the month.  We deal with a lot of “last minute” test submissions and do our best to give you the best turn around time on receiving your CE completion certificate.

This is just a reminder to please try to give yourself enough time to submit your test and receive your certificate.  Unfortunately, things do happen every so often:  faxes not received, failure of tests, user error in the testing center, ect.  We do our best to prioritize at the end of the month as to whom expires first when grading but everyone that expires at the end of the month is graded on a first come first serve basis during our business hours M-F 9am-6pm EST.

It is also important to remember that we date certificates based on Eastern Standard Time for those of you in other times zones submitting close to midnight.  For most of you that must wait until the last minute you may want to sign up to use our online testing center (there is no additional charge for this option).  You can log in and take your test and receive a downloadable/printable certificate immediately.  Testing center sign up requests do have to be fulfilled by our staff during our business hours so if you submit a request outside of business hours you will not get access to the testing center until the next business day.
With the end of the year so close and so many new courses in the works we have decided to let some of our older courses go.  Please check your emails for news of courses going on closeout/clearance sale.  If you think you have missed any you can always check out our Sales & Discounts page on our website.  We will be adding a few more closeout courses as we get closer to the end of the year.

Sincerely,
