Course Description
The National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, and breast cancer advocacy groups recognize that breast cancer screening is underutilized by the population in general but is particularly underutilized by traditionally underserved populations. This course explores issues and concerns associated with mammography and underserved populations. Highlights of this course include facts about people of color and access to health care, breast cancer facts and figures, models of prediction for breast cancer risk, pathology, issues related to adherence to mammography screening guidelines, imaging modalities, and mammography examinations. Information about the Joint Commission’s mandates concerning effective communication, cultural competence, and patient-and-family-centered care is also included in this course. Other chapters focus on anatomy, physiology, and quality improvement in imaging services in mammography.
This course is based on the book Mammography Review & Health Care Disparities, by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 312 pages and 8.5 x 11 inches in size. This book has 12 point font and 1.5 line spacing.
The test has 128 multiple choice and true/false questions.
