Customer Reviews
“Great information that is so helpful for me and my patients. Thank you.”~Bridgete B. 12/2020
“This course book was excellent! It had so much good information and I especially liked how the author distinguished which mammography manufacturer had the specific setup. I have been a tech since 1983, and this course was one of the best home study courses I’ve taken. I highlighted other information in the course book that wasn’t on the test because it was so good!”~Kathleen B. 6/27/19
“I have been a mammo tech for over 30 years, but this course taught me some new things that have changed from years ago.” Betty A. 4/24/19
Course Description
Perhaps the first thing that comes to a patient’s mind when a breast abnormality is found is “What next?” From problem-solving mammography to diagnostic procedures involving the newest breast imaging technology, this course reviews diagnostic breast imaging procedures performed with stereotaxis, digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), ultrasound (US), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These procedures include wire localization, core needle and vacuum-assisted biopsy, ductography, fine needle aspiration cytology, clip placement, elastography, and specimen radiography. This course reviews basic breast imaging principles, indications and contraindications, equipment, and considerations for each procedure and modality. Current screening recommendations and implications, a review of screening and additional mammographic views, and basic patient care, infection control, and safety protocols are included.
This course is based on the book Diagnostic Breast Imaging: A Multi-Modality Approach, by Rachel Gruber, M.Div. The book/PDF is 179 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size. This book has 12 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.
The test has 98 multiple choice and true/false questions.
