Course Description
Imaging procedures are requested to visualize bones, joints, and soft tissues of the extremities. Radiography is a first-line imaging modality; however, additional imaging modalities, such as ultrasonography, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine may be used. Imaging procedures are essential to providing rapid intervention when the patient presents with extremity trauma. Further, the extremities are subject to various pathologies and imaging is important for a timely diagnosis and treatment. This course includes anatomy highlights of the upper and lower extremities, universal protocols of extremity imaging procedures, recognized and accessory imaging projections and positions, and errors common to these. Radiographic pathology and trauma to the extremities are included with emphasis on the modalities frequently requested.
This course is based on the book Extremity Imaging Procedures, by Jeana Fleitz, M.Ed., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)™. The book/PDF is 149 pages long and 8.5 x 11 inches in size. This book has 12 pt font and 1.5 line spacing.
The test has 48 multiple choice and true/false questions.
