Course Description

The discovery of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become one of the most important imaging modalities in modern medicine. One of the greatest advantages of MRI is that unlike other imaging modalities such as radiography and computed tomography is does not deliver a radiation dose to the patient. MRI is credited with its ability to produce superior images of soft tissue and the ability to generate various anatomical contrast levels with adjustment to the acquisition parameters. The goal of this course is to present the fundamental principles of MRI image formation.

This course is based on chapter 15 the publication Diagnostic Radiology Physics A Handbook for Teachers and Students, by the International Atomic Energy Agency (ISBN: 978-92-13010-1). Chapter 15 is 30 pages long.

The test has 20 multiple choice and true/false questions.
