Mammography Initial Training Package

Interested in getting certified in mammography? Get all the required educational hours with the X-Ray Lady! Our mammography training package meets both MQSA and ARRT® certification & registration educational requirements at once!

Our self-study package covers all the subjects required by the MQSA:

• Breast anatomy and physiology
• Positioning and compression
• Quality assurance/quality control
• 8 hours of digital mammography
• 8 hours of digital breast tomosynthesis
• Imaging women with breast implants

You may complete the courses in any order at your own pace! If sitting for the ARRT® certification & registration examination, you have two years from the completion of all eligibility requirements to sit for the examination.

Save on travel costs or missed time at work. Have a group that wants to complete the package? If more than one person wants to complete the package, you can save money by ordering at a test only option for each additional person and share the books.

Note: In addition to completing 40 hours of education, MQSA requirements state that you must complete 25 hands-on mammography exams under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor. Please see our Mammography Certification Checklist.

2. Introduction to Digital Mammography, 2nd Edition (9 CE)
3. Breast Implants and Quality Assurance in Mammography (8.5 CE)
4. Introduction to Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, 2nd Edition (3.5 CE)
5. Introduction to Breast Tomosynthesis (14.5 CE)

ARRT® Post-Primary Certification

We do not recommend any CE course specifically for the purpose of ARRT® certification and registration test prep, nor does the ARRT® endorse any specific material for the purpose of studying for any specific test. Purchase and/or completion of this package, or any other test preparation materials regardless of the author, does not guarantee subsequent passing of the registry exam. The ARRT® has published the mammography content specifications, which gives a detailed outline of the covered topics and procedures, as guidance for the exam. Registrants are encouraged to consult this outline as well as a variety of sources to adequately prepare for the test. In addition to the MQSA requirements, the ARRT® has additional requirements to establish eligibility for the certification and registration exam.
